In 1988, when James Hansen used the term “global warming” in the U.S. Senate, referring to the increase in global temperatures, a fictional event took center stage. Since then, the term “Global Climate Change,” often referred to as “unintentional climate change,” has been the phrase used to describe this phenomenon. In reality, it is based on the fact that, since reliable measurements became possible in 1880, global temperatures have risen by 1.2°C. Moreover, with an unscientific approach, all climate differences around the world are often referred to as a major disaster under this label. The significance of a 1.2°C temperature change, when compared to the scale of the entire planet, is clearly negligible. Temperature changes of less than 2°C, as shown by instrumental measurements, are not even noticeable globally without instruments. Furthermore, the Earth’s geological history provides plenty of evidence that the planet’s temperatures have fluctuated greatly, rising and falling many times. For the past 4.6 billion years, the Earth has witnessed multiple instances of temperature increases and decreases. These changes are verifiable through layers in the Earth’s crust, lake sediments, pollen analyses, or tree rings. There is even evidence that, on several occasions, life on Earth has nearly vanished, and mass global extinctions have occurred.
So why is so much fuss being made about a temperature increase of less than 2°C today? One major factor contributing to this situation is the influence of “left-wing dinosaurs” in the European and U.S. media, who mislead society. In other words, the myth of global warming is primarily propagated by former left-wing intellectuals and writers. Through the persistence of this false narrative, the ultimate goal is to influence the legitimate and rightful power established by the U.S. and its allies in the contemporary world. Their real aim is to weaken the production and market power of the U.S. and its allies by influencing sensitive groups, particularly the youth. It can be clearly stated that the individuals inflating the “global warming” balloon with all their might are former left-wing figures controlling key positions in the media.
Secondly, the influence of social media following the information revolution is very important. Today, through various internet platforms, all kinds of information, whether correct or incorrect, can reach the entire world in just a few seconds. Therefore, it is entirely possible to spread any information directly to billions of people. For example, if a farmer in the Sahel region of Africa experiences a loss in production due to less rainfall than in previous years, someone must be held accountable. “Of course, the responsible party must be global warming caused by the U.S. and its allies, right?” Similarly, explaining the more frequent hurricanes in Malaysia becomes easier and more understandable when linked to global warming. However, we only know the scale of atmospheric events based on data from the past two centuries. So, shouldn’t we ask the question: if we have records for such a short period of time, how can we claim that the entire world is warming?
Images of melting glaciers in the Arctic and photos documenting the disappearance of Scandinavian valley glaciers are among the most commonly used tools to promote the global warming myth. The melting of these glaciers and the extinction of certain species are indeed tragic events. However, according to the Milankovitch Cycles, the Earth has been going through alternating warm and cold periods for the past 2.6 million years. Currently, we are living in a warm period between two ice ages. In this context, we have no definitive information on how much temperature levels might rise during these intermediate periods. Additionally, sea level changes from coastal regions do not provide absolute data on the extent of sea level rise during warm periods. Thus, media figures, particularly left-wing journalists, often exaggerate every climate event to fit the “global warming” narrative.
All of this, backed by the power of the media, becomes a distasteful weapon in the hands of certain writers, based entirely on falsehoods. With the significant influence of social media in people’s lives today, this has only become more alarming. A fake advertisement by a famous influencer can mislead hundreds of thousands of people. When the global warming myth is combined with anti-U.S. sentiments in social media, it creates a narrative that has nothing to do with science but aims to harm the interests of the U.S. and its allies. The true intention is to weaken our country’s production and market power and hinder the successful initiatives carried out by our government globally.
Despite all these unscientific campaigns, our country and its global partners will continue to produce and open opportunities for entrepreneurs with all their might, in opposition to this myth and the public opinion that has been created.
